Become an EAB Member

In September 2013, the Board of Governors for Don Valley Academy became the Don Valley Academy Education Advisory Body (EAB). As was the case for the Board of Governors, the main role of the EAB is to support and challenge the Academy Leadership Team in the journey to make Don Valley Academy an outstanding school.

Over the course of this academic year the membership of the EAB has changed and the time is now right to invite one more parent or carer to join the EAB. This is an exciting time for the academy with completion of the new building due to open in November 2016.   The EAB has actively been involved in the development of the new building and works closely with the academy.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the EAB, there are two forms that need to be completed. These forms can either be collected from Reception at the Academy or are available to download from the Academy website.

The first form is a Governance Nomination Form which asks you to say, using no more than 200 words, why you would like to become an EAB member. The second form is an EAB Member Criteria form which asks a number of questions required by law about your eligibility to be a member of the EAB. Each question is answered by yes or no.

Completed forms should be handed in to Academy Reception or emailed to the Principal’s PA at edgarb@donvalledacademy.org.uk.  In the event that there are more nominations than available places, a parent ballot will be held.

I do hope that you will consider becoming a member of Don Valley Academy Education Advisory Body at this exciting stage in the Academy’s development.
