    Don Valley Academy is open to students as normal on Friday 26th May. The Academy is closed for the Half Term break week commencing Monday 29th May. Students return on Monday 5th June.

  • Brightbus School Transport

    We have been informed that the transport provider - Brightbus is intending to close at the end of the academic year.

    Brightbus currently provide commercial school services across South Yorkshire with approximately 11000 journeys each day.  Brightbus have been a key player in our market since the late 1980s and have done a lot of work to build relationships with schools and parents to encourage the safe and direct travel for young people.

  • Updated Routes to 529 and 530 Bus services

    Please find below updated routes and timetables for the Don Valley services.  There are no changes to the morning service.  The afternoon services have been amalgamated into one service.  There is capacity on one bus to carry all passengers.

    The changes will take place from Monday 20th March 2017.

  • Year 8 Options Information Evening

    Students in Year 8 will soon be asked to make choices on which optional subjects they would like to study in Years 9, 10 and 11. An Options  Information Evening will take place on the Thursday 9th March 2017, 5.00pm – 7.00pm where there will be the opportunity to gain information about all the courses on offer from all departments.

    Tickets are now on sale for our production of the Jungle Book. Monday 27th February, Tuesday 28th February, Wednesday 1st March and Thursday 2nd March.

  • Parking at Don Valley Academy

    25th January 2017

    Parking is available at the front of the Academy in the Jossey Lane carpark, this is however limited. Visitors and parents are reminded that there is additional parking available at the rear of the Academy via the Stonehill Rise entrance, this will be particularly useful at large events such as Parents Evenings, Productions etc.

    Disabled parking bays are available for designated users only.

    Parents are also asked to park responsibly on Jossey Lane.

  • Travel Pass 1

    Cheaper travel with the 11-16 MegaTravel Pass

    16th January 2017

    Children aged 11-16 and living in South Yorkshire can apply for a MegaTravel Pass to prove to bus drivers, tram conductors and ticket sellers that they are entitled to travel at reduced cost on public transport. You can apply for the 11-16 MegaTravel Pass online. Full details on how to apply can be found here: Travel South Yorkshire

    11-16’s travelling without a valid pass will be charged full fare.

    On Friday 20th January Don Valley Academy will be holding a fundraising day in aid of local charity Firefly.

    There will be numerous events taking place throughout the day including non-uniform day, Don Valley make up challenge, leg waxing & head shaving, auctions, Tombola & stalls and lots more sponsored events.

    Dear Parents/Carers

    All current Don Valley students have been provided with the new Delta tie and are looking really smart.

    I would like to confirm that we will gradually be moving towards a standard delta uniform, which will be provided by SPT Uniforms.

    The new Year 7 students starting in September 2017 will be wearing the new uniform but there is no requirement for parents to buy the new uniform for existing students as it will be gradually phased in as you replace uniform items over the next few years.  Fur

    On Wednesday 9th November students from Don Valley Academy performed Antony & Cleopatra in the Shakespeare Schools Fesitval at the Leeds Carriageworks Theatre.     The Board of Directors has taken a decision to rename the Trust to Delta Academies Trust.  This is a simple change of name only, but reflects wholesale and on-going change throughout the organisation.  The name Delta is synonymous with change and the Trust is determined to change educational outcomes and lives for the students and pupils we serve across the North of England.  The relentless focus of the Trust is on what is in the best interests of the children and the communities our academies serve.
