No careers week would be complete without plating some Green Careers Tiny Forests. At Don Valley Academy we are proud to be planting even more trees. We currently have 4 tiny forests already planed by students for Green Careers, and now we are adding to these with the Queens Canopy.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is proud to be creating a living legacy with over a million trees planted in Her Majesty’s name across the nation. Creating a lasting tribute to Her Majesty’s extraordinary service to her country and her people.

The Queen’s Green Canopy

We are creating

  • 2 Tiny Forests,
  • one copse of trees
  • 2 single (Japanese Cherry) trees

What is a Tiny Forest?

Tiny Forests are densely packed native forests, that fits into the size of a tennis court. The forest is not just a pleasant spot for butterflies, birds, bees and small mammals; it is a great place for people too. In the outdoor classroom, children learn about nature

Tiny Forests Design

We are creating 2 Tiny Forests on either side of the path. The classroom areas of each TF will point towards each other (and towards the path). Each Tiny Forest will have biodiversity tiles in the main forest area,
